The Old Vic (The_Old_Vic)

Our renowned Education and Community programme works with people aged 6 - 80+ offering creative approaches to social mobility and mental health and wellbeing. Through our programmes we build community, open up access to the arts and train the emerging theatre professionals of tomorrow. We do this through free theatre tickets to Old Vic productions, through bespoke workshops delivered at the theatre, in schools, in the community and online, and through innovative employability and training programmes. All our programmes are offered for free.

We are now recruiting for OV Backstage, a programme offering paid placements on an Old Vic production to six 18–30-year-olds from underrepresented backgrounds in the arts. This year participants will get to work on the recently announced Machinal – a ★★★★★ pulse-pounding production based on a real-life true crime story.

Participants will shadow industry professionals across 15 paid sessions and get hands-on experience across five theatre disciplines: costume, production management, set, sound and stage management.

The programme will run from 18 Mar–26 Apr 2024.
